WPacFIN Central Commitments
- Assist in developing new and maintaining existing local fishery monitoring data collection programs
- Develop, design, and deploy data collection software applications
- Analyze and perform quality control checks on collected data to ensure that data collections are useful and accurate
- Provide data analysis and reports generation to local agencies
- Train local staffs on all aspects of fisheries monitoring
- Provide central data warehousing to archive fisheries data collected from this region and serve as conduit to share data between agencies
- Provide timely fishery data summary requests to the Pacific Islands Fishery Science Center (PIFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service Headquarters (NMFS HQ), the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council (WPRFMC), and other agencies
